History

Place name

The place name is probably from the Middle High German word " embed " or " pipette ", which means trough or pond, and the word " au " together. Consequently, the local name refers to the Innauen, but disappeared by the application of the artificial stream bed. In the chronicle outdated versions of place names such as " Pettnave " or " Pettenawe " appear.

The name of the hamlet Leiblfing goes back to the immigration of the Bavarians. The resident clan called probably " Leuwolf " or " Libolv ", the ending-ing is typical of Baiuvarii settlements.
