Pétur Guðmundsson (athlete)

Pétur Guðmundsson ( born March 9, 1962) is a former Icelandic shot putter.

At the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, he was eliminated in the qualifying.

In 1991 he was fourth at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Seville, but failed at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in the first round. He was fifth at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Genoa in 1992 and came at the Olympic Games in Barcelona again not have the qualifications beyond.

A further Vorrundenaus at the World Championships in Stuttgart in 1994 was followed by a bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships in Paris and a seventh place finish at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki. In 1995, he was sixth at the World Indoor Championships in Barcelona.
