The introduced concept car Peugeot SR -1 in early 2010 new Peugeot design line is reacted with the 508 for the first time in series production. The 508 is offered in four trim levels - Access, Active, Allure and GT, the latter is only available with the 2.2-liter diesel engine. The basic equipment includes the usual features such as daytime running lights class, ESP, ASR, air-conditioning, including six airbags. This also includes Brake Assist, which also automatically activates the hazard warning lights.

Optional is an emergency system in the offer, which automatically sends an emergency call to the PSA service center or national emergency numbers when an airbag is deployed. This service can also be triggered manually via an emergency call button.


As with Peugeot now standard, is set almost entirely on diesel engines in the engine range. As gasoline are only two 1.6 - liter engines with 120 hp or 156 hp turbocharged available. The turbo - diesel engines ranging from a 1.6 liter with 112 hp to the 2.2 liter HDi with 204 hp. The diesel with 112 hp is offered as optional e-HDi FAP 110 with a start -stop system, six-speed automatic and micro- hybrid system, whereby a CO2 emissions of 109 g per km is achieved in the test cycle.

From a 508 also equipped with four-wheel diesel hybrid version with 200 hp and 99 g of CO2 has been developed which appeared as 508 RXH in spring 2012. Since the summer of 2012, the notchback sedan is offered as HYbrid4 with a consumption of 3.6 liters per 100 km.
