Peugeot J7

The J 7 and J 9 were front -seat vans from Peugeot with front engine and front wheel drive. This construction allowed in addition to the usual cargo vans, and pick-up options from various other plant structures such as ambulance chassis including extensions of different body corporate such as Heuliez.

Predecessor of the J 7 was the Peugeot D4. From 1965 to 1980, the J 7 was built after a major overhaul and modernization of the body, the vehicle was produced as a J 9-2006. For the J7 there was no direct successor, but the larger and more modern J 5 was offered in the same segment since 1981.

The water-cooled engines complaint to the J 7 of 1.5 to 1.8 liters (petrol ) or from 1.9 to 2.3 liters (Diesel ), the power from 48 to 66.5 hp. The empty weight was 1.8 t. The cargo space in the closed van variant was 8.7 m³.

When J 9 the engines ranged from 1.6 to 2.4 liters, the services 66 to 75 hp. The cargo space was as large as in the J 7, the total weight of the standard 1400 was 2.8 t, 3.5 t during 1800, with a curb weight depending on the type of a maximum of 1.7 t.
