Peverell Marley

J. Peverell Marley ( born August 14, 1901 in San Jose, California, † February 2nd 1964 in Santa Barbara, California ) was an American cinematographer.

Life

His first film as cinematographer was The Ten Commandments from the year 1923.

In 1952 he was together with his colleague George Barnes awarded the Golden Globe for his work on the film The Greatest Show on Earth. In the years 1932 and 1948 he was nominated for an Academy Award in each category for Best Cinematography. From 1956 he was active mainly until 1962 for television. Overall, he has been involved in over 120 productions.

J. Peverell Marley has a star on the Walk of Fame.

From 1944 to 1951 he was married to his third marriage to actress Linda Darnell. The two had a child together. A first marriage to the also active as an actress Lina Basquette lasted from 1929 until 1930. His second marriage thought of 1934 1940.
