The pewag group evolved, since the first mention of the forging plant in Bruckl 1479, one of the world's leading chain manufacturers. The Group employs around 1,000 staff in international locations.

History

The forging plant in Bruckl was first mentioned in 1479 for the first time. In 1787 saw the establishment of the chain forged in Kapfenberg and 1803 establishing the location of Graz. Nearly 30 years later, an iron casting plant in Bruckl was built and it came to producing the world's first snow chain in 1912. The name " pewag " was about ten years later, when the plants in Graz and Kapfenberg were merged. Finally, in the seventies saw the establishment of sales companies in Germany and the USA.

In 1993, the pewag austria GmbH was founded and a year later saw the founding of the first subsidiary in Czech Republic. In 1999, the Weissenfels Group was acquired by the one four years later parted again. In 2005, the group split into the snow chains Beteiligungs AG, which produced snow chains pewag austria GmbH and, which manufactures industrial chains. In 2009 it came to the acquisition of Chaineries Limousines SAS

Segment A - snow and forestry chains

The A segment covers the scope of passenger cars, buses, utility and off-road vehicles, forestry machinery and spare parts. Even with emergency vehicles and military applications pewag products are used worldwide.

Segment B - Hoist and conveyor chains

In the field of lifting and handling equipment, the pewag group offers a variety chain types as well as services for the design of chain drives, such as structural steel or rust-resistant chains chains for use in the food or chemical industry

Segment C - Do-it -yourself

This segment includes home improvement and agricultural and forestry products, such as factory standard chains, cable chains, wires and ropes, nails and Cattle chains.

Segment D - Drive Chains and Engineering

The various products and services of the pewag group in the field of drive technology have a wide range of applications in machine and plant engineering. These include joint chains, sprockets and wheel discs, spur gears, racks, bevel gears, Rosta chain tensioners, clutches, torque limiters, timing belts and pulleys, chip sets and other components.

F segment includes products and services for lifting, moving and securing of goods.

The pewag racing team is a community of athletes in professional endurance sports.
