Peyrehorade
Peyrehorade is a commune with 3521 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Landes department in the region of Aquitaine. It belongs to the district and is the capital of Dax ( chef.lieu ) of the Canton of Peyrehorade. She is also a member congregation in the community association Communauté de communes du Pays d' orthosis.
Geography
Peyrehorade is located on the northern edge of the French Basque country, and on the right bank of the river gaves Réunis which arises above the town at the confluence of the Gave de Pau with the Gave d' Oloron. To the west of the city center lies the Lac de Sames, a small lake.
History
The first recorded mention of the village dates from 1448.

Peyrehorade is a tourist, are established in the numerous service providers. In the industrial sector, two companies in the field of agronomy operate.
Peyrehorade is connected to the railway network SNCF and a regional bus network. The nearest motorway junction off the Autoroute A64 is located about 4 km to the south and is connected by the road D 19 Department with the city center. A bridge over the Gave de Pau connects the city to the village of Le Bioch.
