History

Beginning of the 13th century laid the priests of the monastery Ossegg the village Pfaffroda to. 1445 were first mentioned as a possession of the reign of Schoenberg Purschenstein documented Pfaffroda and Schonfeld. For the construction of the church a letter of indulgence was issued by Pope Sixtus IV. With the Reformation became an independent parish in 1539 Pfaffroda. From 1575 to 1578 the Castle of Caspar von Schönberg was rebuilt. From 1651 Bohemian exiles settlement land was assigned. It emerged that places Upper, Lower and Kleinneuschönberg, iron mine and Hutha. 1715 organ of Gottfried Silbermann was installed in the St. George's Church. The passage of the Napoleonic troops in August 1813 Joachim Murat stayed at the castle Pfaffroda. A new school was opened in 1854. 1883 the volunteer fire brigade was founded. Pfaffroda 1912 is connected to the central power supply. The cemetery chapel was consecrated in 1919. 1938 street lighting was put into operation in Pfaffroda.

Incorporations

Schonfeld was incorporated on 1 July 1950 in the community Pfaffroda at Sidon. On 1 January 1994 Dittmannsdorf followed at Sidon. Dörnthal and Hallbach are since January 1, 1999 to Pfaffroda districts.
