The Pfreimd is a 68- km-long, left-sided or eastern tributary of the Naab in the Upper Palatinate Forest in Germany and the Czech Republic.

Name

The name derives from the Pfreimd Upper Sorbian words " pri", which means in or on and " courage ", turbid liquid from. Hence the explanation is: in addition to Bach with turbid water. The river gave the city its name Pfreimd.

Course

The Pfreimd springs and a half kilometers southeast of Lesná vrch on Holý. At its headwaters in Bohemia it bears the name Kateřinský Potok ( Catherine Bach). The brook runs west of Žebráky, then flows between Hošťka and Rozvadov through. In Rozcestí it is bridged by the Dálnice 5. On the Czech side Kateřinské Chalupy and the eponymous town are St. Katherine (St. Catherine ). Southwest of Diana flows the creek on Bavarian territory, where it bears the name Pfreimd from the estate Pfrentschweiher.

The Pfreimd, the Bavarian part is 47 km long, flows into Pfreimd in the Naab.
