Pfrillsee

The Pfrillsee is the smallest lake of the six lakes west of Kufstein. The lake has no surface inflow, but a drain - the " Pfrillbach " - which flows through the district of Kufstein cell and then flows under the highway bridge in the Inn.

The small forest lake is a beautiful hiking destination. A few meters from the south bank has a view over Kufstein.

The " Thierberg lakes" ( Pfrillsee, aL, Hechtsee, Egelsee ) are tectonic phenomena, small collapse basin may have been favored by cavities or other karst phenomena. The Inn Valley glacier, however, she had dispelled in the last Ice Age, carved out and dammed by moraine and meltwater sediments.

The Pfrillsee is dammed at its southern end about one meter. Without this measure, the lake would have been much smaller and would sooner or later silt.

The Pfrillsee is privately owned, but the public is available for free use (as opposed to Stimmersee, Thiersee, Hechtsee ). In the environment of the Pfrillsees should always resurface vipers.

Approximately 100 meters from the lake there is a reed pond, which was formerly called " Haarsee ". However, he is almost silted up and he must surely be more than classified as pond as a lake due to its small size. He was probably separated from Pfrillsee by a rock fall.
