Phang Khon District

Amphoe Phang Khon ( Thai อำเภอ พังโคน ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) is the province of Sakon Nakhon. The Sakon Nakhon Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the Isaan.

Geography

The Amphoe Phang Khon is located in the center of the province of Sakon Nakhon and borders from the north clockwise as seen at the Amphoe Wanon Niwat, Phanna Nikhom, Sawang Daen Din and Waritchaphum.

Amphoe Phang Khon and the surrounding area are supplied by Nam Un Dam.

History

The Amphoe Phang Khon was created as a small district ( King Amphoe ) on March 20 1968 by broke out the three Tambon Mueang Khai, Hai Yong and Rae from Amphoe Phanna Nikhom. Then took place on November 16, 1971 VIP Level upgrade to a full Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Phang Khon consists of 5 sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 70 villages ( Muban ) are divided. There is a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Phang Khon ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พังโคน ) consists of parts of the tambon Phang Khon.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
