Phang Nga

Province

Phang Nga ( Thai: พังงา ) is a city ( เทศบาล เมือง พังงา ) in the Thai province of Phang Nga. It is the capital of the district ( Amphoe ) Mueang Phang Nga and the capital of the Phang Nga province in southern Thailand.

The city of Mueang Phang Nga has 9,865 inhabitants. (2012 )

Location

Phang Nga is located on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula ( opposite the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat ) and on Maenam Phang Nga, which flows into the Andaman Sea. The city is located about 800 kilometers from the capital Bangkok. Off the coast of Phang Nga is one of the most interesting landscapes of Thailand, with picturesque villages, white conical mountains, mangrove forests, and wild jungle.

Economic importance and

Phang Nga benefited from the upturn in Phuket, located just south and has developed into a tourist center in the south.
