Phare du Creach

The Phare du Créac'h ( Breton Tour tan ar C'hreac'h ) is a lighthouse built in 1863 at the Breton island of Ouessant in France. He is the most powerful lighthouse in Europe luminous and has a range of 19.5 nautical miles ( about 36 km).

The tower is inhabited and has a height of 74 m. It shows two white flashes every ten seconds, which are generated by four lamps, each with 2000 watts. The optical apparatus rotates every 40 seconds once around itself at the foot of the tower there is a Seezeichenmuseum, the tower itself can not be visited.
