Pharis (mythology)

Pharis (Greek Φᾶρις ) or Phares (Greek Φάρης ) is a person of Greek mythology.

Pharis is the son of the god Hermes and the Danaide Phylodameia and the father of Telegone, the mother of Orsilochos. Pausanias calls him as the eponymous founder of the Messenian town Pharai, where he speculates elsewhere, whether Pharis was also a Oikist the city Pharai in Achaia.
