Pharnabazus I

Pharnabazos ( † before 430 BC ), son of Artabazus from the family of Pharnakiden was probably a governor ( satrap ) in the Persian empire of the Achaemenids.

About Pharnabazos virtually nothing is known, it is called only in the traditions together with his father, but never single. If anything, he can only have 455-430 BC has served as governor of Phrygia with the residence Daskyleion. It is also possible that his son could Pharnakes directly, follow the grandfather, Artabazus.

Besides Pharnakas Pharnabazos had a second son, Susamithres, considered murderers of Alcibiades.
