Phase One (company)

Phase One is a manufacturer digital backs for medium format cameras from different manufacturers. Among them include Hasselblad (V, H1, H2), Mamiya ( RZ67 PRO II, 645AF, 645 AFD, AFDII ) and Contax ( 645 ). Since September 2009, Phase One also offers its own camera body ( 645DF ), which is largely identical to the Mamiya 645DF. In addition, Phase One, a provider of software products.

History

Phase One was founded in 1993 by a Danish inventor to find an ultimate method to digitize images. 1994 Phase One was acquired by a leading investment company in Denmark. The current owners of the company are company employees and five associated companies. The headquarters are located in Copenhagen. Since 2009, the company Leaf Imaging is part of the company. 2009 acquired Phase One of Microsoft's image management program Microsoft Expression Media ( formerly: iView Media ). Also in 2009, took over Phase One a majority stake in the Japanese camera manufacturer Mamiya.

Software

In addition to the digital back panels provides Phase One Capture One programs, Media Pro and Capture Pilot on. Capture One is an editor for photos in RAW format.
