Phaungkaza Maung Maung

Maung Maung Phaungkaza ( Phaungasa Min Thaya Gyi, Burmese: ဖောင်း ကား စား မောင်မောင် spoken, p ʰ àʊɴɡázá màʊɴ màʊɴ; born September 12, 1763 in Sagaing, † February 11, 1782 in Ava ) was for a short time King of the Burmese Kingdom of Ava.

Life

Maung Maung Phaungkaza was the eldest son of Naungdawgyi (reigned 1760-1763 ), the second king of the Konbaung dynasty, and his wife Shin Hpo U. He was appointed in early adolescence Prince of Phaungka. His cousin, Singu Min, since 1776 was the fourth king of the dynasty, however, brought the nobility against him, since he (reigned 1763-1776 ) no longer followed the expansionist policies of his father Hsinbyushin or could follow, as the country as a result of the many wars had been bled dry.

While Singu Min was on a journey, Maung Maung Phaungkaza occupied on February 5, 1782 with the help of his loyal to the throne in Ava. Shortly afterwards came his uncle, the Prince of Badon to push the usurper from the throne on February 11, and to make himself king Bodawpaya (reigned 1782-1819 ). The childless Maung Maung Phaungkaza and his chief wife Nammadaw Mibura Hkaung Gyi were drowned on the same day. The other three women were in those days alive.
