Phen District
Amphoe Phen ( Thai: อำเภอ เพ็ญ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Udon Thani. The Udon Thani Province is located in the northwestern part of Northeast Thailand, Isaan so-called.
Geography
Neighbouring districts ( from northeast clockwise): Amphoe Sang Khom which, Ban Dung, Phibun Rak, Mueang Udon Thani and Ban Phue in the province of Udon Thani Province, and Amphoe Sakhrai, Mueang Nong Khai and Phon Phisai of Nong Khai province.
History
The history of the district dates back to Mueang Phen, which was the Mueang Nong Khai subordinate. In 1907, he became the Amphoe of Udon Thani province called " Mueang Phen " ( เมือง เพ็ญ ). In 1917 he was renamed " Phen ".
Management
Amphoe Phen is divided into eleven communities ( tambon), which in turn in 151 villages ( Muban ) are divided.
There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Phen ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล เพ็ญ ), consisting of parts of the tambon Phen,
- Ban That ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน ธาตุ ), consisting of the entire Tambon Ban That
In addition, there are eleven " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
