Phil Beattie

Phil Beattie (actually Philip Garth Beattie, born September 8, 1963 in Belfast) is a former British hurdler, who specializes in the 400-meter distance.

At the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, he was eliminated in the flow.

In 1986, he won for Northern Ireland starting at the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh with his personal best of 49.60 s and peaked at the European Athletics Championships in Stuttgart the semifinals.

From 1981 to 1987, he was seven times in a row he was Northern Irish champions. 1983 and 1985 he was British Champion 1982 Irish Masters.
