Phil Dent

Phil Dent ( born February 14, 1950 in Sydney ) is an Australian former tennis player.

He won in his career three tournaments in singles and 25 in doubles and played for Australia in the Davis Cup.

The greatest successes came with his longtime doubles partner John Alexander, with whom he won the Australian Open in 1975 and 22 more tournaments and reached the final of the French Open and Wimbledon.

His second Grand Slam title he won in 1976 at the U.S. Open Mixed competition at the side of Billie Jean King.

He is the father of Taylor Dent, who was also a professional tennis player.

Dent played 1969-1982 eight games in singles and eleven doubles. He won six of eight and seven of eleven games.
