Phil Griffin

Phil Griffin ( * in the 20th century) is an American journalist and producer, and since July 2008, President of MSNBC.

Griffin graduated from Vassar College with a BA in English. He began his career in 1980 with CNN where he was a producer for three years. From 1983 to 1987 he was at NBC's Today as a producer and went in the same year as a senior producer for USA Today: The Television Show. 1988 to 1991 he was back with NBC's Today. From 1991 to 1995 Griffin was on NBC Nightly News and the American Close- Up segment producer. In 1995 he went to Los Angeles to coverage for trial of OJ To conduct Simpson.

Since the launch of MSNBC in July 1996, Griffin is at the transmitter. He was vice president of news there primetime programming and in April 2005, senior vice president at NBC. Since July 2008 he has been President of MSNBC.

Griffin is married to Kory Apton and lives in Manhattan with his two children.
