Phil Hare

Philip G. " Phil" Hare ( born February 21, 1949 in Galesburg, Illinois) is an American politician. Between 2007 and 2011 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Phil Hare grew up in Rock Iceland and visited until 1967 the local Alleman High School. In the years 1967 and 1968 he graduated from the Black Hawk Community College in Moline. Between 1969 and 1975 he was a member of the United States Army in reserve. Full-time Hare was 1969-1982 working in a clothing factory in Rock Iceland. During this time he became a local union leaders. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. Between 1983 and 2006 he was on the staff of Congressman Lane Evans.

In the congressional elections of 2006, Hare was in the 17th electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Evans on January 3, 2007. After a re-election he was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 2011, two legislative sessions. In 2010, he was defeated by Republican Bobby Schilling. Hare was like its predecessor Evans as liberal congressman. So campaigned for a reform of the health and interests of workers and trade unions. He was a member of the Committee on Labour and Education and the Committee on Transport and infrastructure and in four sub-committees. Phil Hare is married and has two children.
