Phil Leeds

Phil Leeds ( born April 6, 1916 in New York City, New York, † August 16 1998 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor.

Life

Phil Leeds was born in 1916 the son of a postal clerk in New York City. The entry into the entertainment business, he made as a peanut seller in the ballparks his hometown and as a stand-up comedian. Before joining during the Second World War in the Army, he had a brief career on Broadway. After his release, he has appeared in several films and television comedies, including Rosemary's Baby and Ghost - Message from Sam ( as a hospital Spirit). He has guest starred, among others, in the series Friends and Mad About You. At the age of 80, he starred in an episode of the sitcom Roseanne ( Season 9, Episode 7 ), in which Roseanne finds himself in a creepy 90's version of the film " Rosemary's Baby ". Leeds played the role of " Dr. Shand " in the original from 1968.

Phil Leeds died at the age of 82 from pneumonia at Cedars -Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
