Phil Roman

Philip Phil Roman ( born December 21, 1930 in Fresno, California, United States) is an American animator Mexican descent. He is the founder of the animation studio Film Roman and Phil Roman Entertainment.

Life and work

In the early days of his career novel was animator Chuck Jones's independent studio, Sib Tower 12 Productions and later Chuck Jones Productions. He was one of the lead animator for the television production How the Grinch stole Christmas provided from 1966, as well as an audio commentary along with June Foray on the DVD release of the film.

He founded animation studio Film Roman is most well known by the productions, The Simpsons and King of the Hill for 20th Century Fox and MTV as well as the animated TV specials Garfield and Peanuts.

Roman directed the cartoon Tom & Jerry - The Movie from 1992 he was also director einigerDie Peanuts specials, as well as director or co-director of twelve of the thirteen prime-time TV specials Garfield 1982-1991. . Roman was a producer of Garfield Gets a Life of 1991.

Phil Roman sold in 1999, the company Film Roman, and created a new studio by the name of Phil Roman Entertainment. The company produced the animation Special Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer from the year 2000.
