Phil Rudd

Phil Rudd ( born May 19, 1954 in Melbourne, Australia as Phillip Hugh Norman Witschke Rudzevecuis ) from 1975 to 1983 and since 1995 the drummer for the Australian hard rock band AC / DC.

Career

Phil Rudd played in several bands in Melbourne until he came by his former bandmate Trevor Young from AC / DC in January 1975.

1983 he joined AC / DC from drug problems and mental health problems, he had never really coped with the death of the first AC / DC singer Bon Scott. Simon Wright replaced him. So he took the time to be first in a helicopter company ( Phil has a pilot's license ) to get involved. Later he devoted himself entirely to his farm in New Zealand, where he later built his own recording studio. He is also an avid car fan. His last concert in his " first AC / DC part " he admitted on 12 December 1982 in Zurich.

Quite surprisingly, it increased in 1995, after 12 - year break, again at AC / DC, and there replaced Chris Slade.

Since the sacking of Mark Evans in 1977, he is the only native Australian AC / DC.

Equipment

Rudd plays Sonor drums, Paiste cymbals, Evans skins and Sticks Easton Ahead. In the fall of 2009 brought a Sonor Phil Rudd Special Edition drum set on the market.
