Philadelphia Firebirds
The Syracuse Firebirds were an American ice hockey franchise in the American Hockey League from Syracuse, New York.
History
The Philadelphia Firebirds in 1979 to Syracuse, New York, relocated, where they played under the name of Syracuse Firebirds in the 1979/80 season in the American Hockey League before the franchise was dissolved after the season. In their only season in the AHL Syracuse Firebirds reached third in the South Division with 69 points after the regular season to the playoffs, where they lost to the Hershey Bears to a sweep in the best- of-seven series.
