Philip Riedesel zu Camberg

Philip Riedesel to Camberg († 1598 ) was a knight in the last half of the 16th century.

Life and career

Philip Riedesel to Camberg was the son of Henrich Riedesel to Camberg and Catherine of Sebolt. He joined in 1569 into the Order of St. John, and was Commander to Erlingen and receptor in Upper Germany. Later he was in the years 1594-1598 Grand Master of Upper Germany. During this time he was general of the Imperial Danube fleet in the Great Turkish War ( 1593-1606 ).
