Philip Yordan

Philip Yordan ( born April 1, 1914 in Chicago, Illinois, USA, † March 24, 2003 in La Jolla, California, USA) was an American screenwriter and film producer.

Short Biography

The son of Polish immigrants studied at the University of Illinois and graduated with a degree in Law at Kent College of Law in Chicago.

During the McCarthy era Yordan lived in Paris and wrote screenplays not only himself, but put his name as Responsibility for screenplays of other authors are available whose names were on the " Black List ".

Philip Yordan was nominated three times for an Oscar and eventually won him at the Academy Awards in 1955 for his work on the film The broken lance.

He died at the age of 88 from pancreatic cancer.
