Philipp Lahm ( born November 11, 1983 in Munich) is a German footballer and captain of FC Bayern Munich and the German national team. He plays preferably in the defense as a right or left-back, but can also be used as a defensive midfielder.

Origin and education

Philipp Lahm grew up together with a two- year-old sister and grandparents in the Munich district Gern. His father, a telecommunications engineer, had played football in the district league. His mother is a youth leader at the FT Gern, started at the Lahm playing football.

Social Commitment

Lahm is involved in several social projects.
