Philipp Lahm ( born November 11, 1983 in Munich) is a German footballer and captain of FC Bayern Munich and the German national team. He plays preferably in the defense as a right or left-back, but can also be used as a defensive midfielder.

Origin and education

Philipp Lahm grew up together with a two- year-old sister and grandparents in the Munich district Gern. His father, a telecommunications engineer, had played football in the district league. His mother is a youth leader at the FT Gern, started at the Lahm playing football.

His first steps as a footballer graduated Lahm for the FT Gern. From 1995 he played in the youth of the FC Bayern Munich, then from 2001 for the amateurs of the club in the Regionalliga Süd. Social Commitment

Lahm is involved in several social projects.
