Philippa Boyens

Philippa Boyens (* in New Zealand) is a New Zealand screenwriter.

Life

The teacher's daughter from Auckland itself was initially a teacher and theater author, as well as temporary chairman of the New Zealand author guild. She wrote together with Fran Walsh and Peter Jackson the screenplays for The Lord of the Rings - movie trilogy. From her the lyrics come in the movie. My son Calum Gittins played in " The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers ," the young Haleth.

After the screenplay for a remake of New Zealand's "King Kong " (2005) Alice Sebold she last novel " The Lovely Bones " for the filming in turn adapted under director Peter Jackson. The film was released in 2009 under the name " The Lovely Bones " in the German cinemas.

Currently Boyens is working on the screenplay adaptation of the novel The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien and Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh.
