Philippe Claudel
Philippe Claudel ( born February 2, 1962 in Dombasle -sur -Meurthe, Lorraine ) is a French writer, playwright and film director.
Life
Claudel was first known in Germany for his novel The gray souls who describes the situation in a Lorraine village in the hinterland of the front during the First World War. With this book, he succeeded the great sensation of French books Autumn 2003: The gray souls was awarded the Prix Renaudot selected book of the year and stood for months at No. 1 on the bestseller list. Also in Germany was the gray souls extremely successful. At my daughter is the third novel Philippe Claudel, a touching testimony of humanity.
His first feature film as a director turned so many years I love you was premiered in 2008 at the 58th Berlinale.
