Philippe de Broca

Philippe de Broca ( born March 15, 1933, Paris, † 26 November 2004 in Neuilly -sur -Seine near Paris) was a French film director.

Life

De Broca, born in Paris in 1933, came from the French gentry. In known directors such as Claude Chabrol and François Truffaut, he learned his craft as an assistant director. In Chabrol's first film, Le Beau Serge (1958 ), Philippe de Broca played a small role. Previously Georges Lacombe and Henri Decoin were his teachers.

He made ​​films with stars such as Jean -Pierre Cassel, Françoise Dorléac, Jean -Paul Belmondo, Yves Montand, Catherine Deneuve and Philippe Noiret. De Broca died on 26 November 2004 at the age of 71 years at the American Hospital of Neuilly -sur- Seine on a cancer.
