Philippe Favre

Philippe Favre ( born December 11, 1961 in Geneva, † December 6, 2013 in Val Thorens, France) was a Swiss racing driver.

Career

He started with the racing in Formula Ford 1986, he was at the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch with a Van Diemen second behind Roland Ratzenberger. In 1987, he went on to Formula 3 and drove in the British Championship for Reynard Racing Cars. He won a victory and finished seventh in the final. Also in 1988 he drove in Formula 3, this time for Alan Docking Racing. He scored two podium finishes, but no victory, and finished the season in ninth place.

In 1989 he drove 3000 eight races for GA Motorsports in the formula. After the first race of the season at Silverstone, he was equal to the pole position, it went for him from then on, all downhill.
