Philippe Kahn

Philippe Kahn ( born March 16, 1952) is a French-American entrepreneur and founder of Borland.

Life

Kahn studied at the ETH Zurich and the University of Nice and graduated with a master's degree in mathematics from. During his studies he also came with the Micral in contact, one of the first personal computer.

In 1982 he went to the USA and founded the company Borland of which he was there until 1994. In 1994 he founded together with his wife, Sonia Lee, the company Starfish, which was acquired in 1998 by Motorola. Then he founded the company Light Surf, which he headed until 2004, a year after his retirement from Light surf this company was acquired by VeriSign. In 2004 he founded the company Full Power, the service market is active in the multimedia messaging.

Together with his wife he had a daughter. From a previous relationship Kahn has another three children. He is fluent in English, French, Spanish and German.

Music

Kahn has enjoyed in Zurich training in classical music with an emphasis flute. He has recorded with renowned jazz musicians such as John Abercrombie and Dave Liebman CDs in the United States. With two CD productions he has appeared as a bandleader - at Walkin 'On The Moon (1991) and Paradiso ( 1992).
