Philippe Lucas

Philippe Lucas ( born November 1, 1963 in Saint-Cloud ) is a former French footballer.

Playing career

Lucas grew up in the metropolitan area of ​​the French capital Paris and began at a club located there from Louveciennes playing football before he was admitted to the youth department of the professional clubs EA Guingamp. He was 16 years old when he was appointed in 1980 in the second division team of the club and has established itself in this short time.

In 1982, he was lured away from the first division side FC Sochaux and secured after some time a regular place. He was placed in the defensive midfield and the club also remained loyal after it was relegated to the second division in 1987; a year later the team of direct back in the Bundesliga. At the same time he made the entry into the national cup final in 1988, but was not in the defeat on penalties against FC Metz on the court. Thanks to a fourth place in the Erstligasaison 1988/89, the club received permission to start for the coming season in European competition, which Lucas first aground at international level.
