Philippe Mangou

General Philippe Mangou ( born January 26, 1952) is an Ivorian military. He was since 2004, Laurent Gbagbo the chief of staff of the former Ivorian Armed Forces ( FDS ).

On the night of 14 to 15 March 2011 his residence was attacked in Yopougon in the wake of the government crisis in 2010/2011 by heavily armed units of the Forces Nouvelles de Côte d' Ivoire. On the evening of March 30, he fled with his family to the South African embassy in Abidjan.
