Philippine Badminton Association

The Philippine Badminton Association ( PBA) is the supreme national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in the Philippines. The association was founded in 1952.

History

In the 1920s, British and American emigrants made ​​the game known in the Philippines. In 1947, the Manila Bay Association of badminton clubs founded. 1949 first national championships were held in 1950 the Philippines on the Philippine Amateur Athletic Federation was the 21st member of the Badminton World Federation. 1962, the national governing body PBA was founded by 28 clubs. The association is a member of the Badminton Asia Confederation and the National Olympic Committee.
