Phillip Aspinall

Phillip Aspinall ( born December 17, 1959 in Hobart ) is Archbishop of Brisbane since 2002 and since 2005 head of the Anglican Church of Australia.

He has a degree in science from the University of Tasmania, in Theology from the Melbourne College of Divinity (by Trinity College, University of Melbourne and the United Faculty of Theology ), and a Master of Business Administration from Deakin University and a Ph.D. in education from Monash University.

Aspinall worked as a computer programmer for the Tasmanian Department of Education.

Aspinall was ordained in Tasmania on 25 July 1988 deacon and a year later a priest.

He served in various positions in the Anglican Church in Tasmania and Victoria, for example, as deputy director at Christ College at the University of Tasmania (1980 to 1984), as an assistant pastor and priest in various places in Tasmania and as director of Anglicare Tasmania ( 1994-1998 ), including two years as Archdeacon of Church and Society.

He was ordained on 29 June 1998 in Adelaide Bishop, where he served as Assistant Bishop to December 2001.

He is married to a doctor and has two children.
