Phillip Noyce

Phillip Noyce ( born April 29, 1950 in Griffith, New South Wales) is an Australian film director.

Life and work

Noyce moved at the age of 12 years to Sydney. He turned the first short films the age of 18, he studied from 1973 at the Australian Film, Television and Radio School. For one of his first short films, documentary Castor and Pollux, he received as a young graduate of the film school already the award for "Best Australian Short Film of the Year". His first full-length feature film Backroads he staged in 1977, followed by the movie news war (1978), for which he won numerous Australian film awards. In 2002 he was the National Film Board with the award for "Best Director of the Year 2002 " award.
