Phillips County is a county located in the state of Kansas in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Phillipsburg.

Geography

The County is located north of Kansas, bordering Nebraska and has an area of ​​2318 square kilometers, of which 22 square kilometers are water surface. It borders in Kansas clockwise to the following counties: Smith County, Rooks County, Graham County and Norton County.

History

Phillips County was formed on 26 February 1867. It was named after William Phillips, one of the activists and opponents of slavery.
