Phon Thong District

Amphoe Phon Thong ( Thai: อำเภอ โพนทอง ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the north of the province of Roi Et Roi Et The province is located in Isaan, the northeast region of Thailand.

Geography

Amphoe Phon Thong borders the following counties ( from east clockwise): Amphoe moei to the Wadi, Nong Phok, Selaphum and Pho Chai in the province of Roi Et, as well as Amphoe Kuchinarai the province of Kalasin.

History

Phon Thong was established on November 23, 1919, at the time consisting of two tambon which had been separated from Selaphum, two tambon from Amphoe Kamalasai and two from Amphoe Kuchinarai.

In 1939, both the district and the main Tambon in " Waeng " has been renamed, but the name of the district was changed back in 1953 Phon Thong.

Administrative units

Amphoe Phon Thong is in 14 communes ( tambon) divided, in turn, in 190 communities ( Muban ) are divided.

There are three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Phon Thong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โพนทอง ), consisting of parts of the tambon Waeng and Sa Nokkaeo,
  • Khok Sung ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก สูง ), consisting of the entire Tambon Khok Sung
  • Khok Muang Kok ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล โคก กก ม่วง ), consisting of the entire Tambon Khok Muang Kok.

There are also 12 Tambon Administration Organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
