Phosphoethanolamine is the phosphoric acid ester of mono ethanol amine. It occurs as a structural cut, for example, in phosphatidylethanolamines and is a degradation product of sphingosine-1- phosphates.
Representation
Phosphoethanolamine can be prepared by the reaction of oxazolidine -2-one with phosphoric acid.
Another synthetic route is the ring opening of the aziridine with phosphoric acid.
