phpPgAdmin

PhpPgAdmin is a web based frontend, can be managed with the PostgreSQL database. Analogous to phpMyAdmin for MySQL on which it was originally based, it is a PHP application and therefore run on a variety of systems. The decisive advantage over the command-line based PostgreSQL tool is the graphical user interface and accessibility with a web browser over a network, thus also over the Internet. Due to the visualization it provides a good introduction for newcomers and a workload for intermediates and experts.

Furthermore, there is a module for exporting the data, which dominates the languages SQL, XML, XHTML and CSV, and plain text output.

The fact that phpPgAdmin is written in PHP, also simplifies installation since only the directory containing the script files and images must be unpacked into a directory that is accessible to the Web server.

The initiators and main authors of the project are Dan Wilson, Robert Treat and Christopher Kings - Lynne.

The surface of phpPgAdmin has so far been translated into 27 languages.
