Phra Phrom District

Amphoe Phra Phrom ( Thai: อำเภอ พระ พรหม ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the center of Nakhon Si Thammarat. The Nakhon Si Thammarat province is located in the southern region of Thailand, about 780 km south of Bangkok on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula to the Gulf of Thailand.

Geography

Neighbouring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Mueang Nakhon Si Thammarat which, Chaloem Phra Kiat, Ron Phibun and Lan Saka. All Amphoe located in the province of Nakhon Si Thammarat.

History

Phra Phrom was established initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) on 30 April 1994 by four Tambon Mueang were separated from Amphoe Nakhon Si Thammarat. On October 11, 1997 Phra Phrom has been promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Phra Phrom is divided into four communities ( tambon), which in turn into 38 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
