Phra Yuen District

Amphoe Phra Yuen ( Thai อำเภอ พระยืน ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the center of the province of Khon Kaen. Khon Kaen is located in the western part of Northeast Thailand, Isaan.

Geography

Phra Yuen borders seen from the north clockwise from the Amphoe Ban Fang, Mueang Khon Kaen, Ban Haet Mancha Khiri and.

History

Phra Yuen was born on October 18, 1976 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three Tambon Phra Yuen, Phra Bu and Ban Amphoe Mueang Khon Kaen sound from were separated. 1 January 1988, Phra Yuen has been promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Phra Yuen is divided into five communities ( tambon), which in turn in 46 villages ( Muban ) are divided. Chief of the county is Mr. Phuchit Siwongrat

There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Ton ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล บ้าน โต้ น ) consists of the whole Tambon Ban Ton,
  • Phra Yuen ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล พระยืน ) consists of parts of the tambon Phra Yuen.

There are also four " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
