Phraates I of Parthia

Phraates I. was a Parthian king, who reigned from 171 BC to about 176 BC. He was the eldest son of Phriapatios. Phraates I. began with attacks on the Seleucid Empire. Antiochus IV had just suffered some defeats and was too weak to perform in the remote provinces in Iran suitable resistance.
