Phrao District

Amphoe Phrao ( in Thai: อำเภอ พร้าว ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the northeastern province of Chiang Mai. The Chiang Mai province is located in the northern region of Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): the Amphoe Doi Saket, Mae Taeng, Chiang Dao, Chai Prakan Province Chiang Mai, Amphoe Mae Suai and Wiang Pa Pao and the province of Chiang Rai.

Attractions

  • Wat Doi Mae Pang ( Thai: วัด ดอย แม่ ปั๋ง ) - Buddhist temple ( Wat ) Thai forest tradition.

Management

The circle is divided into eleven subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 108 villages ( Muban ).

Mae Chaem has a small-town status ( thesaban tambon) and covers parts of the tambon Wiang and Tambon Thung Luang throughout.

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
