Phu Kradueng National Park

The Phu Kradueng National Park, Phu Kradung also written ( Thai: อุทยานแห่งชาติ ภูกระดึง ), located in the district ( Amphoe ) Kradueng Phu Loei province in Northeast Thailand. He is one of the most famous national parks in Thailand, its highest elevation is 1,316 m.

History

The park was declared in 1943 to the protected forest and converted into a national park on 23 November 1962. He is so after the Khao Yai National Park, the second oldest national park of Thailand. Each year the park attracts several thousand visitors.

Geography

The park is located 520 km northeast of Bangkok and about 70 km from the provincial capital Loei in the area of ​​Phang- Loei - ridge. He is best reached via the Khon Kaen - Loei highway.

The park itself consists of a plateau with meadows, cliffs, forests, waterfalls and evergreen monsoon forests at lower altitudes. The park is home to numerous animal species and a few tigers.
