Physical Markup Language

The Physical Markup Language (PML ) is an XML -compliant language for describing the contents of the information about the EPC network (EPC: electronic product code, Electronic Product Code ) information exchanged. PML is a standard "voice" for the storage of data objects which can be read both by humans and by machine. For information about time, place and environmental conditions as well as the owners of objects can be stored.

The Physical Markup Language was designed by the Auto-ID Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as part of their RFID system.
