Furthermore, there was the series Boss, Boxer, Bravo and Grillo Si, which were equipped with similar or the same technique. They differed primarily by the frame and the rim size. The Gilera EC1 and Italjet models Tiffany Pack 2 and also take advantage of the drive technology and the engine of Ciao, which can be explained with membership of the Piaggio Group. In the 1980s, a van version of the Ciao came on the market, the so-called Ciao Porter. This moped had 3 wheels and a small container or a cargo area on its front. The vehicle was not available in Germany, but was widespread in Italy, especially in the communal area and street cleaning.

It is a classic that differs alone already by the V-belt drive from most other scooters / mopeds that time. This drive is in comparison to chain drive relatively quiet and low maintenance. The moped versions are also still equipped with a continuously variable automatic transmission, or type specific with variator. This technique can be found in virtually all scooters again, who are currently on the market. Outstanding is the rotary vane inlet of the classic Piaggio engines.
